One of my favorite motorcycles in the motorcycle industry has improved for the upcoming model year, as the Austrians have just packed the updated 2022 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT. With 175 horsepower in the Euro5 specification, the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT is a serious sports bike, but KTM has worked hard to give the bike the necessary skills to ride long distances.
For the 2022 model year, this means a semi-active Apex undercarriage from WP and a revised undercarriage that has been adopted by the KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO of the current generation. The KTM 1290 Super Duke GT 2022 was equipped with a massive 7″ TFT dashboard with a revised layout. The equipment has also been upgraded, all in the hope of giving a better quality feel to this orange Touring ball.
The new Super Duke GT continues the massive trend and has a 6-gallon fuel tank, which should be more than enough to reach the horizon. Attentive eyes will notice that the wheels of the Super Duke GT are screwed directly from the Super Duke R, which means that they drop 1 kg OF Mass (2 lbs) on the old units.
KTM also boasts that the updated Super Duke GT will be the first motorcycle in its range to use a brand new navigation system called Turn-by-Turn PLUS, which will further improve the ride experience. TBT+ will be available via KTM Connect and will be operated by Sygic.
It allows the projection of navigation instructions directly on the dashboard and is designed to help drivers navigate more efficiently. Expect to see it on other KTM models in the future, which may or may not be a good thing if you take into account past experiences with Sygic and KTMs trying Smartphone Navigation.
The 2022 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT is expected to arrive at dealerships in January 2022, although it remains to be seen if it will arrive in the United States. We’d bet that’s not the matter, which is a fucking shame.
